With Theatres throughout The UK currently dark and productions closed – Loudoun Musical Society’s 2020 production of Kinky Boots was pushed back until 2021.

But that didn’t stop the company – the wonders of live streaming gave them the idea to produce a virtual show for their usual sell-out audiences and the end result is almost ready to release.

Following the huge viral success of their video of “You Will Be Found” from the musical “Dear Evan Hansen”, LMS Together brings together members from past and present to deliver a message of friendship and togetherness and give them and our audiences something to look forward to at a time when there are worries for many.

Streamed on YouTube and Facebook between Monday 28th September and Saturday 3rd October – LMS will broadcast a series of performances, containing different songs from past shows and popular classics – all filmed and recorded over the past few weeks locally.

Pulling off such a feat is not easy with rehearsals held on Zoom, recording and filming in a socially distanced environment and editing together with the expertise of sound technicians and technical wizardry.

Producer Lynsey Campbell said of the project “ –We were totally taken by surprise with the success of our recent video and saw the opportunity to bring a virtual show to our audiences as a huge opportunity. The challenge was huge, but one LMS are used to – the result is amazing and testament to our membership and production team”.

Local businesses have been key to the success of the project with filming taking place in The Douglas Hotel on London Road as well as the Grand Hall through East Ayrshire Leisure.

Lynsey added “ –it is at times like this where we all need to work together as a team and get through what is a difficult time for many. We hope this show shines a light and brings some hope to viewers – it certainly has for us”.

The shows are free to view, however a JustGiving page has been created to raise funds for local initiatives as well as The Arts in Ayrshire.
