As the opening night of show week grows ever closer, we’ve been delving into the archives and discovered some fun facts on our members’ previous experiences with Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.

We’re always proud of the wealth of talent and experience within our cast, but even more so this year when we discovered that our very own Katie Davey starred in a production of Joseph 17 years ago! Taking to the Gaiety Theatre stage with Ayrshire Voices, Katie was only fifteen years old when she had the incredible opportunity to perform with the cast from Andrew Lloyd Webber’s theatre company ‘The Really Useful Group’. Ayrshire Voices performed 12 shows at the Gaiety in only one week – possibly explaining Katie’s unrelenting stamina when joining LMS for six shows throughout our show week!

This first experience of the show began a love for Katie that led her to see the same company she’d performed with a further twice in Glasgow, and now 17 years on, she will be taking to the Palace Theatre stage with LMS in our production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat!

Not only this, but Past President David McIlwraith will be reprising his spot in the titular role, after donning the famous coat for the first time in Kilmarnock Academy’s 2008 production of Joseph – with the same MD too!
We’ll be performing in the Palace Theatre from 2nd – 6th October – join us for a splash of colour this autumn with a wealth of local Ayrshire talent!
